Popular Taco Franchise to Expand With New Locations Announced

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop announced its expansion with a notable shift in its service model. The brand will debut its latest concept, Fuzzy’s Tacos and Margs, in Sugar Land, Texas. The new establishment signifies a pivot from Fuzzy’s traditional fast-casual format by introducing a full-service dining experience to it’s consumers.

New Concept Ideas

Unlike previous iterations that focused on counter service and self-pickup, the new location will feature tableside service, enhanced digital integration, and a hospitality-forward approach.

The Sugar Land unit is also launching a revamped menu, spotlighting signature items such as:

  • Texas Brisket Taco
  • Cali-Style Steak Taco
  • Sonora Relleno (vegetarian-friendly, featuring fried poblano pepper)
  • The Ultimate Nachos
  • Customizable taco combinations

Beverage Innovation

Fuzzy’s has also placed a strong emphasis on elevating its bar program. The new cocktail lineup includes:

  • Paloma ‘Rita (with grapefruit Jarritos)
  • Watermelon ‘Rita
  • Fuzz Driver (frozen)
  • Double Rum Daiquiri (frozen)

This beverage-forward strategy aims to strengthen the chain’s position during peak evening and weekend hours.

Strategic Ownership and Expansion Goals

The Sugar Land location is managed by the NGE Group, led by brothers Miro and Andrew Nazarian. The group has committed to opening two additional Fuzzy locations by the end of 2025, aligning with the brand’s broader expansion strategy following its recent move into the California market.

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop president Patrick Kirk emphasized that Sugar Land serves as a testbed for refining the brand’s hospitality-driven, simplified dining model. “We’re excited to pilot this new model that puts hospitality front and center while simplifying the overall experience for our guests,” he said.

Operational Details

The Sugar Land location will operate seven days a week, with extended weekend hours, optimizing service availability for both lunch and evening dining crowds.

This development marks a significant pivot for the brand as it continues to explore scalable innovations that enhance guest experience while supporting nationwide growth.
